2010 Election

To my friends,

 

I sent the following announcement this afternoon via my monthly legislator’s report to towns.  I wanted you also to receive the news directly.  After much reflection and consideration, I have decided not to seek re-election for a second term (as District 7 St. Lawrence County Legislator).  My reasons are of a personal nature, and I do not wish to provide specifics.  I do want to express what an honor it has been to serve as your legislator.  I have enjoyed getting to know so many of you, and the relationships that have been forged.  I have enjoyed tackling the tough issues that have come before us, and am most proud of our progress on information technology both at the County and in the community at large.  I have worked hard to listen to your concerns, as well as act on them when possible.  I sincerely thank all those who have supported me, especially my family.  Many challenges lay before us in 2010 and I plan to serve fervently through the end of this year.  By announcing now, it is my anticipation that others will have ample time to position themselves as viable candidates for the Fall election.
